Tadelakt Skills

Daniel and I shall be learning how to create Tadelakt for our future home at the Butterfly Forests Homestead! 😀 The class will be hosted by: Build Naturally with Sigi Koko, from June 23 to  June 25th.

What is Tadelakt?

“It is a traditional Moroccan finishing technique that involves hand-polishing lime plaster with smooth stones. The resulting surface is smooth, luscious, and often colorful. The polished plaster is sealed with black olive soap for added waterproofing.”

-Paragraph sourced from the Tadelakt workshop description.

In the future, (middle of 2018) we shall be creating Tadelakt in our bathroom sink, shower, Jacuzzi, kitchen sink and some counter-tops in the food preparing counter. Once we have finished the workshop, I’ll post a few photos from the class. 🙂
