Wanting to incorporate designs which are of our roots; this raised bed is in essence of a Celtic Symbol known as the Triskelion. Its three symbolic extensions consists the meaning of:
Creation, Preservation, and Destruction.
Power, Intellect, and Love.
Past, Present, and Future.
Spirit, Mind, and Body.
Creator, Destroyer, and Sustainer.
There are other meanings to the symbol which are not listed here. As for what the Triskelion means to me personally as an individual, I ignore the rest. 🙂 The three grains we shall be growing and harvesting will be surrounded in a wild flower field. Two other raised beds of three total Celtic shapes, will be in the wild flower meadow. A great mutual resource for both animal, honeybee, human and environment alike. 🙂
Attached to the drawing concept, is three double sided snippets from a delightful catalog: “2016 Catalog: Bountiful Gardens, Heirloom, Untreated, Open-Pollinated Seeds for Sustainable Growing.” It’s a shame Daniel and I will not be able to order from them when we move to New Zealand. They do not ship overseas. Even so, I am quite happy to use them as an inspiration for the Butterfly Forest Homestead, and that their business is helping bring Earth-loving goodness to the commoner people. 🙂
*Applauds in great smiles to the sweetheart business, Bountiful Gardens for all of their hard devoted work to help others and the world.* 😀 ❤
